Course Descriptions
Elementary Classes:
Art (PreK - Grade 1): This 55 minute class is for children ages 4-7. (Full Year) While learning techniques, skills, vocabulary, and composition students will develop confidence in their ability to create. Includes learning. This course will use a variety of art supplies and each student will be issued a set of supplies to take home at the end of the course.(There will be an additional supply fee of 25.00.)
Pokemon Math: This 55 minute class is for Pokemon fans ages 7-12.Explore the world of Pokemon through math facts, measurement, and crafts. Compare and contrast the actual measurements of your favorite characters. Share facts and stats with fans like you!
Utah Studies: This 55 minute class is for students ages 8-12. This course is a full year course focusing on the Geology, Geography, History of the state of Utah. It will include studies of the local Native American tribes. Students will be encouraged to memorize the counties. Not homework heavy, but the course will include a project and presentation.
Great Artist Art Class: This 55 minute class is for children ages 7-12. Students will learn about one artist each week. They will learn about the artist’s life, methods, and inspiration, while learning to “see like an artist”. As they follow along with our draw one line and one shape at a time we will recreate a famous masterpiece together. While learning techniques, skills, vocabulary, and composition students will develop confidence in their ability to draw. Includes learning to blend colors, add shadows, texture, depth, and providing opportunity for students to add their own unique elements to the art. This course will use high quality art supplies and each student will be issued a set of supplies to take home at the end of the course.(There will be an additional supply fee of 25.00.)

Minecraft Adventures with Friends: This 55 minute class is for children grades K-5. In this exciting Minecraft adventure, young learners will dive into the blocky world of creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving. Through hands-on activities, students will explore the virtual landscapes, build structures, and discover the magic of redstone circuits. Whether they’re constructing epic castles, designing pixel art, or creating hidden traps, this class will ignite their imaginations and foster essential skills.
Magic Treehouse Book Club: This 55 minute class is for students ages 8-12. This course is a Semester based course where we will review and discuss various books from the Magic Treehouse book series. (Students will come having read from the book via independent reading, family read aloud, or audiobook. Each book covers many topics relating to the adventures of the characters, and the historical events being discussed. Here is an example of what subjects may be covered.language arts social studiesscience & technology mathGeography nature & conservationanimals & wildlife character-building lessonsvisual arts music/theater artsHomework is not required, but supplemental activities may be sent home with students to expand on what was learned.
Human Body Systems: This 55 minute class is for students ages 8-12This course features kid-friendly and engaging text, activities, and diagrams as we learn about the skeletal system, muscular system, digestive system, circulatory system, respirtory system, nervous system, and endocrine system.
Harry Potter for Muggles: This 55 minute class is for muggle students ages 8-12A Class for fans of the Wizarding World. Muggles will be sorted, create crafts, play games and make snacks from “The Sorcerer’s Stone.” We will do character studies of the characters and creatures and include some writing, vocabulary, and STEM activities. Planets in our Solar System: This 55 minute class will spend time on each of the planets, how they rotate around the sun, and other fun facts about space. By the end of the semester, we will have created our own copy of the solar system. STEM: (Engineering and More): This project based class will teach using the engineering design process. Not each project will last only one class period as the students progress will depend on their open-ended problem solving skills. This design process also encourages students to learn from failure, making improvements along the way to find new paths to great design solutions. We will do the traditional egg drop project as well as design straw bridges, a catapult or trebuchet, make polymers and more! Inventors and Inventions: Description Coming Soon Botany and Horticulture: Description Coming Soon IEW Writing Classes:Writing 1: Grades 3-5 (Or older beginner writers).This is a 55 minute class. Fables, Myths, and Fairy Tales: Implementing the Structure and Style writing method. A wide variety of adventures will supply a rich foundation for imaginative and enjoyable writing. Your students will work through IEW Units 1–7 as they learn to take notes, retell narrative stories, summarize references, write from pictures, and compose their own fables, myths, and fairy tales.Students will need a Student Book that includes assignments, blank outlines, source texts, checklists, vocabulary cards, and grammar helps.
